NEW ENGLAND SCRIBES is a medical scribe service that supports the Emergency Department physicians at Tufts Medical Center. Our medical scribes work closely with the attending physicians to accurately and thoroughly document patient visits to the emergency department in the electronic medical record. They transcribe the patient medical history and exam, record procedures and treatments and document the physician’s encounter with the patient throughout their stay in the Emergency Department. This invaluable experience allows our scribes to better understand a role in clinical medicine before medical or PA school. Many of our medical scribes gain acceptance into medical, PA, or graduate level school.​
