Emergency Department Medical Scribe
Job description
As a Medical Scribe you will work closely with attending emergency physicians to accurately and thoroughly document in the electronic medical record patient visits to the emergency department. You will transcribe the patient medical history and exam, record procedures and treatments and document the physician’s encounter with the patient throughout their stay in the Emergency Department. You will accompany the physician into the patient examination rooms to perform your duties. You will grow and learn from the teaching environment of one of the premiere academic medical centers in Boston, which also functions as a Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center and Advanced Cardiac Center.
For inexperienced scribes, you will complete a comprehensive 32-hour paid-training program before moving to independent scribe work.
Requirements

The successful candidate will be 18 years or older and have a minimum of a high school diploma. College level work at the sophomore level is desired. A pre-health career track is preferred.

Demonstration of medical terminology and human anatomy is a plus.

Excellent computer skills with a typing speed of at least 45 WPM is required.

You must display strong attention to detail and have excellent organizational skills.
You must be available for a minimum of two 8-hour shifts per week.
